Rules
ToolCup is a paid placement board for legitimate software tools. Here is exactly how it works.
Lifetime dollars decide rank
Every successful whole-dollar payment adds to that tool’s lifetime total. The first listing can start at $1. To take #1, a tool must finish one dollar above the current leader; a smaller payment still earns the rank its new total reaches.
One URL, one running total
Obvious URL variants are normalized into one canonical tool. Repeat successful payments add to that same total. Ties keep the tool that reached its total earlier ahead, followed by original creation order.
Only verified payments count
Pending, cancelled, or failed Checkout sessions never change the board. ToolCup applies credit only after Dodo’s verified signed payment.succeeded webhook, and replayed events cannot add the same payment twice.
Paid listings do not expire
The main leaderboard never resets. Daily standings are immutable Top 10 snapshots. There are no subscriptions, passes, recurring charges, or expiring placements.
Payments are final
ToolCup does not offer voluntary refunds because paid placement begins immediately. This does not limit rights required by applicable law. If Dodo processes a legally required or exceptional refund, accepted dispute, or lost dispute, that payment is removed from the live lifetime total exactly once. Historical daily snapshots remain unchanged.
Clicks are counted, not invented
Following a tool from the live leaderboard increments that tool’s public outbound-click count. Clicks are activity context only: they never affect rank, verified totals, or payment processing.
Moderation and endorsement
We may hide or remove malware, illegal content, fraud, deceptive submissions, or tools outside the software scope. A paid rank is not an endorsement and guarantees no traffic, sales, downloads, users, or business outcome.
